On Monday we visited the Black Cultural Archives to learn about Jonkonnu which is a celebration on Boxing Day which is celebrated in different Caribbean Islands. We have been learning about the Caribbean in Geography. There are lots of characters in Jonkonnu - we got to dress up as the characters and have our own parade just like they do in the Caribbean. We also made dolls of one character called Pitchy Patchy, he wears lots of colourful strings which move when he dances.
